The New England Hemophilia Association seeks a part-time (24 hr/wk) Advocacy Coordinator to manage the planning, coordination and successful implementation of its advocacy activities. He/she serves as the principal conduit for all advocacy event planning and communications.

Background

Founded in 1957, the New England Hemophilia Association (NEHA) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with bleeding disorders and their families through education, support, and advocacy.

Living with a bleeding disorder means living with the steady risk of injury, disability and financial calamity. For a child, it can mean unexplainable pain, physical restrictions, and feeling different from one’s friends; for parents and siblings, constant worry and disruptions from day-to-day activities; for an adult, restricted employment options, financial insecurity, and disruptive bleeding episodes; and for survivors of the tainted blood pools of the 1970s and 1980s, dealing with HIV and hepatitis C infections.

Today, NEHA aims to give these individuals every chance to lead active lives and realize their potential. We do so through education by providing them with the information they require to understand their condition and obtain appropriate medical care. We provide support to the community of affected individuals. And we advocate for their interests with state and regional agencies.
