Giving Back To Those In Need

Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of giving back. Since 2017, our Wicked Strong Family has raised nearly $20,000 to support other organizations in the bleeding disorder community!

  • In 2017, we supported the Hemophilia Federation of America’s Disaster Relief Fund, which works to provide bleeding disorder patients with immediate financial relief when they are displaced or impacted by a natural disaster.
  • In 2018 and 2019, we supported the efforts of Save One Life, which works to improve the quality of life and future for people with bleeding disorders in developing countries by offering direct financial assistance.
  • In 2020, 2021, and 2022 we expanded our mission globally to support the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). These funds will help increase access to care and facilitate the delivery of treatments for patients living with a bleeding disorder. Treatment for All – regardless of geographic location.

Giving Tuesday 2023

This year we are raising funds for an organization that is not connected directly to bleeding disorders, but one that is close to home: the Maine Community Foundation’s (Maine CF) Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund. This fund was created after 18 people were murdered and 13 were injured when a gunman opened fire in Lewiston, Maine. The victims ranged in age from 14-76 years old.

Some of our community members from this area knew the victims and their families, joined the response, and provided medical care. Those living in this area are now living with the fear, anxiety and mental health challenges caused by this tragedy.

Nick McRae-Cyr is a licensed social worker in this area and serves on our Board of Directors. He has spent the past month working directly with the local community affected by these events. Nick said, “Maine is a strong community of neighbors and with support from the NEHA community, we can come together as a Wicked Strong Family and help each other process and heal.”

Please join us this Giving Tuesday in supporting the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund. 100% of your donation will go directly to victims and families, and to assist in the overall recovery efforts in this area. Our goal this year is to raise $1,500.

The Maine Community Foundation (Maine CF) created the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund to address current and emerging needs associated with this tragedy. With Maine CF as a conduit, 100% of every dollar donated will be allocated to people impacted and the organizations that will help guide Lewiston-Auburn through the process of healing.
