DESCRIPTION:Throughout our Webinar Wednesday Series, we will be hosting a live webinar on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM about various topics of interest and importance in our community. To watch one of our previous webinars, click here ( https://www.newenglandhemophilia.org/resources/webinars/ ).\nThis webinar took place on Wednesday, May 5 at 7 PM. This presentation walked attendees through the journey that started over 50 years ago with the beginnings of gene therapy research. We reviewed the basics of genetics and how that plays a role in hemophilia and possibly other types of bleeding disorders. With that knowledge, we looked at how gene therapy is meant to work, and discussed both the potential for and the challenges of investigational research today.\nThis webinar was generously supported by Spark Therapeutics.\n
