After hosting sold-out Best Bloody Mary competitions in Providence, RI, Burlington, VT, and virtually during the pandemic, we are excited to bring our Best Bloody Mary Competition to Newton, MA!

Join us on Sunday, June 4 from 11 AM – 2 PM at Baramor in Newton Centre, MA to raise funds and awareness for bleeding disorders while also helping us decide which Boston-area bar can pour the best bloody mary!

Logistical Information 

• Date: This will be held on Sunday, June 4 from 11 AM to 2 PM.
  • If inclement weather arises, the competition will be postponed to Sunday, June 11 from 11 AM to 2 PM. All ticket holders will be notified via email.
• Location: The competition will be held at Baramor in Newtown Centre, MA (45 Union St, Newton Centre, MA 02459). This will be held outdoors on Baramor’s newly-opened patio.
• Parking and Transit: Many options exist regarding travel to Baramor.
  • On-Street Parking: There is on-street parking on Union Street, Langley Street, Beacon Street, Braeland Ave.
  • City Parking Lots: Beacon Street Parking Lot (closest). For more information about parking lot options, please visit click here, and look under Newton Centre.
    
  • Public Transit: Baramor is located just steps away from the Newton Centre T Station on the Green D line (Riverside).
• Silent Auction: There will be a silent auction and a raffle at the event. All proceeds will benefit the New England Hemophilia Association. Raffle tickets will be sold during the event.
• Additional Donations: If you would like to make an additional donation, you can do so when purchasing your ticket, or by clicking here to donate online. Checks and cash donations will also be accepted at the event.

Competition Details

• Bartenders from local bars will create their unique bloody mary concoctions with their own mix, spices, and garnishes.
• All competitors will be provided with vodka from our event partner, Tito’s Handmade Vodka. 
• Each ticket holder will be able to place one vote for your favorite bloody mary and your favorite garnish!
• A surprise celebrity panel of judges will also vote for their favorite bloody mary and garnish.
• At the end of the event, a trophy will be presented to the restaurant who has a combination of most tokens for best bloody and best garnish (75%) and the votes of the celebrity panel (25%).

Ticket Information 

• Admission is $50 per person when purchased online before Wednesday, May 31 at 11:59 PM. Tickets will be $65 at the door.
• Your ticket allows a tasting from each event competitor. Sample sizes are large enough to judge but small enough to allow you to taste all the participants’ entrees!
• Each ticket holder will be able to place one vote for your favorite bloody mary and your favorite garnish!
• Because of the nature of the event, attendees must be 21 or older.
• All proceeds will benefit the New England Hemophilia Association’s programs and services. As this is an event to raise crucial funds for charity, all sales are final.

How The Tickets Will Support Those In Need

• Kate and Jordan Bazinsky, a local family from Newton and regulars at Baramor, have a 9 year old daughter, Nora, and a 7 year old son, Colin. Colin has severe hemophilia A. Since Colin’s diagnosis was a surprise, NEHA has been a tremendous source of education and support for the Bazinsky’s. In particular, Colin is looking forward to learning how to self-infuse his IV medication this summer at NEHA’s family camp. 
• While this event is a fun competition among local bars, it is also a vital fundraiser that supports the New England Hemophilia Association’s mission to provide education, support, and advocacy to families, like the Bazinsky’s. 

A Look Back at Our 2019 Competition
