Consumer Medical Symposium

March 9 @ 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

To recognize March as Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month and to help you understand what these potential medical advancements may mean for you and your family, we are proud to host our 3rd Annual Consumer Medical Symposium in Portland, Maine on Saturday, March 9, 2019. There will be information presented about hemophilia A, hemophilia B, vWD, and other rare bleeding disorders.

The goals of this meeting are to provide consumers in the New England bleeding disorders community with the foundation and tools to discuss the current treatments and potential treatments in clinical trials (subcutaneous injections and gene therapy), to have conversations around future insurance barriers to these treatments, and to begin to process what the psychosocial implications may be to patients. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Steven Pipe, Chair of the National Hemophilia Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Council (MASAC). This year, we are offering an adult, teen and youth track. In addition, childcare will be provided.
