Each Fall, we host our annual meeting, called FallFest. At FallFest, there is wide-range of educational programming for adults, teenagers (13-18 years old), youth (6–12 years old), and childcare (0–5 years old). We are excited to collaborate with the Maine Bleeding Disorder Center (MBDC) for the educational programing during this event!

FallFest will be held from Saturday, November 4 to Sunday, November 5 at The Westin Portland Harborview in Portland, ME.

Agenda Overview

  • Friday, November 3 (Pre-Conference Activities)
    • 12 PM: NEBDAC Advocacy Stakeholder Meeting (invitation only)
    • 6 PM: Membership and Welcome Reception (optional)
  • Saturday, November 4
    • 8 AM: Registration and breakfast begin.
    • 9 AM: Programming begins.
      • Presentations by HTC medical providers on hot topics for the bleeding disorders community.
      • Have your questions answered by providers in an open forum for patients and caregivers.
      • Engaging keynote session with singer and advocate, James Ian, about making the most of situations beyond your control.
      • Connect with others experiencing similar circumstances during our rap sessions.
      • Family-Friendly Social Activity on Saturday Evening.
      • Childcare, Youth & Teen Tracks featuring fun programming by the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine and other local organizations, along with activities by our Camp Counselors.
      • Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday.
  • Sunday, November 5
    • 8 AM: Breakfast begins.
    • 9 AM: Programming begins.
    • 12 PM: FallFest ends.
  • A detailed agenda will be shared with registered attendees. 

Travel & Accommodations

  • Hotel: We have secured a room block at The Westin Portland Harborview for both Friday and Saturday evening at the rate of $189 per night. Attendees can stay one, or both nights. 
    • The last day to get this discounted rate is Friday, October 4.

  • Travel Assistance: All NEHA 2023 members are eligible for travel assistance. If you traveled more than 100 miles round trip to Portland, ME for this event, we can help offset your costs with our $100 for 100 miles program. More details will be shared after the event.

Annual NEHA Awards

Each year during FallFest, we present awards to leaders in the New England bleeding disorders community who have gone above and beyond and demonstrated commitment to our mission of providing education, support, and advocacy.

The following awards are given: Advocate of the Year, The Matty Vieira Service Award, New Family Engagement Award, The Spirit of Philanthropy Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Champion of Healthcare Award, BLeader Teen Award.

The deadline to make a nomination is Wednesday, October 4.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration within one week of the event or do not show up for the event, you will be charged a $30 per person fee. If you are experiencing a personal or medical emergency, please contact us to discuss.
