Virtual Winter Camp
Winter Camp is a weekend of fun, engaging, and intergenerational outdoor programming. Activities were designed to incorporate themes from the in-person experience, including arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, campfires, educational presentations, interactive demonstrations, and more, while ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Virtual Community Chats
We created Virtual Chats to allow our community members to stay connected during the pandemic. Our first community chat of the year was held on Sunday, February 21. Virtual chats are a great way to connect and meet other bleeding disorder community members from around New England. Balancing Stress: Let’s Calm The Monkey Mind Workshop
The New England Hemophilia Association (NEHA) partnered with the Hemophilia Alliance of Maine (HAM) and the Connecticut Hemophilia Society (CHS) to host a two-part workshop, titled "Less Stress: Let’s Calm The Monkey Mind." Virtual Game Night
The New England Hemophilia Association (NEHA) and the New York City Hemophilia Chapter (NYCHC) are excited to host a monthly game night on the first Friday of every month! On Friday, March 5 at 7 PM, families from our communities cam together for a night full of fun, community, and laughs.
On Sunday, March 7 at 5 PM, we hosted an interactive cooking demonstration. Attendees were encouraged to participate in this webinar from their kitchen, as our instructor demonstrated how to make chicken tortilla soup. In addition to a great meal, this helped participants gain a better understanding of how to easily create a wholesome dinner and more about the components of food to balance out an entire day’s nutrition. Virtual Consumer Medical Symposium
Our Consumer Medical Symposium was created five years ago to help you better understand what current and potential medical advancements, including gene therapy, may mean for you and your family. Information was presented about hemophilia A, hemophilia B, vWD, and other rare bleeding disorders. This also included information about insurance barriers and trends, as well as a forum about the psychosocial and emotional implications of change. Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month Celebration
Every year, the New England Bleeding Disorders Advocacy Coalition (NEBDAC) state leads work to get resolutions and proclamations passed in their states recognizing March as Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month on a local level. This year, we hosted a Virtual Advocacy Ceremony on Monday, March 15 to celebrate these resolutions and proclamations, to learn about why being an advocate is important, to hear directly from an elected official, and to learn about our policy priorities.
