Advocacy Action Alert: CT HB 7200

When 13 year old, Waylon Page, saw a Stop the Bleed kit last year in Georgia, he asked his state representative to submit legislation requiring them in Connecticut.

In March, Waylon, who has a Qualitative Platelet Dysfunction, teamed up with 14 year old, Alice Marie Tenner, who has Factor 10 Deficiency, to testify in front of the CT Public Safety and Security Committee calling on them to pass HB 7200. This bill that would require bleeding control kits in public spaces and state-owned buildings, implement bleeding control training, and provide certification credit for first responders.

The CT House of Representatives is expected to consider HB 7200 in May, though the official calendar has not yet been released. Please contact your Representative and ask them to vote yes on HB 7200.
