On Tuesday, July 1, the U.S. Senate passed H.R. 1—a bill that includes severe cuts to Medicaid and Marketplace insurance. These programs are lifelines for one-third of the bleeding disorders community.

Among many other changes, the bill would make Medicaid and marketplace insurance less accessible and more expensive, and is projected to lead to 17 million people losing coverage nationwide. This legislation puts their health coverage and access to essential care at serious risk, and also threatens HTC sustainability.

The bill now heads to the U.S. House for a final vote.
