Family Camp
Since 1992, NEHA has offered a Family Camp program to anyone with a bleeding disorder who receives care New England. This event focuses on 2 key goals: increasing and enhancing self-infusion skills, and community building.
About Virtual Camp
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to host our first-ever Virtual Family Camp experience! Here, families from New England and the New York City area participated in a virtual scavenger hunt where they completed a variety of camp-themed activities. This was followed by two live events and two virtual campfires on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
Theme
The theme for our Virtual Family Camp was “ohana,” meaning “family” in the Hawaiian language. Like Family Camp, ohana represents so much more than a few words. In Hawaiian culture, ohana involves people coming together to support one another. While we may not be together physically this summer, we are united by experience and how much we care for each other.
Camp Video
As we reflect on the past and look to the future, we want to share this video of Family Camp, created by NEHA. The stories and laughter remind us that no matter where we are, camp is not just a place, it’s a feeling that lives in our hearts. Watch The Video Here.
