Giving Back To Those In Need
Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of giving back. Over the past five years, our Wicked Strong Family has raised nearly $20,000 to support other organizations in the bleeding disorder community!
- In 2017, we supported the Hemophilia Federation of America’s Disaster Relief Fund, which works to provide bleeding disorder patients with immediate financial relief when they are displaced or impacted by a natural disaster.
- In 2018 and 2019, we supported the efforts of Save One Life, which works to improve the quality of life and future for people with bleeding disorders in developing countries by offering direct financial assistance.
- In 2020 and 2021, we expanded our mission globally to support the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). These funds will help increase access to care and facilitate the delivery of treatments for patients living with a bleeding disorder. Treatment for All – regardless of geographic location.
Pictured above are boys who received treatment thanks to the WFH. Bleeding disorder patients in developing countries (like the boys pictured above) routinely face treatment shortages and struggle to access the care they need. This was made even worse due to the pandemic.
Introduction to WFH
Last year, we hosted an introductory webinar to help members of our community learn more about WFH. During the event, leaders from WFH explained how their organization helps patients in developing countries. To explain the increase in need first-hand, Barun, a patient from Nepal, explained the challenges he faces accessing care and treatment in Asia, and how the WFH was able to deliver factor to him during COVID-19.
Although Giving Tuesday is technically a one-day campaign, donations can be made below to support this cause. Any donations received before December 31, 2021 will be donated to WFH.
