Giving Tuesday Webinar: World Federation of Hemophilia

Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, NEHA is proud to support the crucial efforts of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH).

Pictured above are boys who received treatment thanks to the WFH. Due to COVID-19 imposed shipping restrictions, patients like them in developing countries face factor shortages and outreach initiatives are at risk. This is a grave situation; in Southeast Asia, only 13% of expected bleeding disorders patients are diagnosed, compared with 74% of patients in Europe.

WFH is working to change this reality and we are proud to stand with them in pursuit of Treatment for All. That’s why, we are pleased to partner with WFH to host an interactive webinar for the New England bleeding disorders community in advance of Giving Tuesday.

On Thursday, November 19, we hosted a webinar where leaders from WFH explained how their organization helps patients in developing countries. To explain the increase in need first-hand, Barun, a patient from Nepal, explained the challenges he faces accessing care and treatment in Asia, and how the WFH was able to deliver factor to him during COVID-19.
