Educational Webinar: Coping Strategies for Physical Distancing: A Siblings’ Perspective

This was the third event in our Webinar Wednesday Series. Throughout this series, we will be hosting a live webinar or virtual hangout every Wednesday evening at 7 PM ET about various topics of interest and importance in our community.

About This Webinar

Feeling isolated is not uncommon for members of the bleeding disorders community, especially during events like a bleeding episode or hospitalization. Isolation can also occur during times like the COVID-19 pandemic.

This webinar focused on how siblings cope with this isolation, and how these coping mechanisms can be applied to our entire community during this time period.

About Our Presenters

Dr. Gary McClain, PhD, LMHC, CEAP facilitated this discussion. He was joined by, Sarah Ducasse and Shannon Alley, who both have siblings with bleeding disorders, and Jane Cavanaugh-Smith, the mother of a child with a bleeding disorder. All of these speakers came together to explore the themes of isolation and coping mechanisms.
